A screw conveyor is a continuous conveying equipment that uses the rotation of a screw blade to push materials along a fixed casing, thereby achieving material transportation. Its core structure mainly includes the screw blade (fixed on the screw shaft), the casing (containing materials and guiding the conveying path), the drive device (such as a motor and a reducer, providing rotational power), etc. During operation, the drive device rotates the screw shaft and the blade, and the blade pushes the materials along the axial direction of the casing through friction and thrust, completing the transportation of materials in horizontal, inclined or short vertical directions.
Applicable materials: Screw conveyors are suitable for conveying powdery, granular or small blocky bulk materials (such as grains, coal, cement, feed, chemical raw materials, etc.).
Characteristics of screw conveyors:
Blade pitch: 100 – 355mm
Conveying capacity: 0.15 – 55 cubic meters per hour
Simple and compact structural design; strong material adaptability, diverse conveying methods and high efficiency, stable operation; good sealing performance, energy-saving and environmentally friendly; intelligent detection, easy maintenance.
It can be made of various materials, including stainless steel.
Applications of screw conveyors:
1.As a continuous conveying equipment that uses the rotation of a screw blade to push materials forward, screw conveyors are widely used in multiple industries due to their compact structure, good sealing performance, and flexible conveying directions. 1. In the agricultural sector, it is a good helper for material handling. It can be used to convey grains such as wheat, corn, and rice, whether transporting harvested grains from the field to storage silos or transferring materials during the grain processing process. It can also precisely convey various raw materials in feed processing, such as soybean meal, bran, and fish meal, ensuring the continuity of feed production. Additionally, it can handle agricultural waste like straw and chaff, transporting them to processing equipment for reuse.
Benefits: Strong material adaptability.
2. The mining industry also relies heavily on screw conveyors. In coal mining, they can be used to transport coal from underground mining sites to surface storage areas or subsequent processing equipment. In the mineral processing process, various reagents and by-products of mineral processing are often conveyed using them.
Benefits: Can adapt to their granular or powdered characteristics and achieve stable transportation.
3. The construction materials industry also cannot do without screw conveyors. In cement production, they can convey raw materials, clinker, and finished cement, ensuring smooth material supply from raw material crushing to final packaging. For sand and gravel, whether natural or artificial, they can be efficiently conveyed to meet the needs of concrete mixing plants and construction sites. In the ceramic industry, when conveying raw materials such as clay, feldspar powder, and quartz sand, their sealing performance can effectively reduce dust pollution and maintain a clean production environment.
Benefits: High efficiency, good sealing performance, and environmental protection.
4. In the chemical industry, due to their good sealing performance, they can effectively prevent material leakage and the mixing of external impurities, and are widely used in the transportation of various chemical raw materials. For example, they can convey plastic particles, resins, and fertilizer raw materials. For some corrosive materials, special material-made screw conveyors can be selected to meet the conveying requirements.
Benefits: Good sealing performance.
5. In the environmental protection industry, screw conveyors can be used to transport sludge produced by wastewater treatment, conveying it from sedimentation tanks to dewatering equipment or subsequent treatment sites. In waste treatment, they can also be used to transport loose waste materials.
Benefits: Strong material adaptability.
